BMW paint codes are normally under the bonnet (with the exception of the 1 series & newer 3 series, which is on the passenger door jam), and is either at front or rear of engine bay.  BMW paint codes normally have three digits.,  The name of the car colour is also on the same tag.

If you can't find your colour code on the car your local BMW dealership (parts department) will be able to tell you your code from your registration or chasis number.
